A downloadable game for Windows

Noclip Echoes is a text-based exploration game set in a procedurally-generated labyrinth. Inspired by the backrooms mythos and classic horror games like Slenderman, players navigate endless, out-of-bounds corridors and collect 7 ๐Ÿ“– Pages to escape. The labyrinth's ever-changing structure and procedurally-generated rooms ensure a unique experience each time.

  • ๐ŸŒ€ Procedurally-generated Labyrinth: The labyrinth dynamically changes as exploration progresses, ensuring no two playthroughs are identical.
  • ๐Ÿ“– Page Collection: The goal is to collect 7 Pages to complete the Escape Warp Book and exit the labyrinth.
  • ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Rusty Key: Unlocks specific locked rooms that may contain valuable items or pages.
  • ๐ŸŒŒ Hidden Passage: Represents secret areas that can be revealed through exploration.
  • ๐ŸŒ€ Sanity-Based Encounters: Unsettling encounters with shadow entities create unpredictability and require strategic decisions to overcome.

Room System

Rooms may be locked or contain ๐ŸŒŒ Hidden Passages. Utilizing a ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Rusty Key or discovering a Hidden Passage increases the likelihood of finding a ๐Ÿ“– Page, rewarding thorough exploration and smart decisions.

Page Discovery & Escape

  • Random Encounters: Pages can be discovered during certain random events throughout the exploration process.
  • Special Events: The use of a ๐Ÿ—๏ธ Rusty Key to unlock a room or uncovering a ๐ŸŒŒ Hidden Passage increases the chances of finding a ๐Ÿ“– Page, rewarding risk-taking and exploration.
  • Victory Condition: Collecting all 7 ๐Ÿ“– Pages is required to assemble the Escape Warp Book. Upon completing the book, escape from the labyrinth becomes possible, provided that health is maintained and lurking dangers are avoided.

Install instructions

game functions "out of box," download and run "noclipechoes.exeto begin.

if you want to compile the game yourself, download the .py game files in "sourcecode.zip" and extract to a folder. then compile in any terminal such as command prompt using python and pyinstall.
